Copyright question
I’m curious to know how many of you copyright your songs with a PA from or an SR form. Is best to use both forms or is one enough to protect a song.

Trouble is this, no matter what you do: The international distribution of music, or anything streamed online ends up in the hands of everybody abroad. Even if the selected country in question has copyright agreements with the USA, it is left to the individual country to enforce the rule. In addition, many will license rights from rip off liscencing companies that do not hold USA agreements to anyone. Hiring a lawyer capable of going after such dealings is cost prohibitive, and impossible without big label protections, and those are no guarantee either. Bottom line is anything that is online is vulnerable. Sorry to be a downer, but I have learned the hard way.

Not a fan of the traditional "poor man's copyright" as it really does not offer much protection. This might be a little better. It is not the full protection of a Library of Congress registration, but it creates a digital timestamp for your works. https://www.songuard.com/

Yes the SR Richard. I also do the " Poor Mans copywrite. I make a CD and Mail it to myself. Then you get a date on the postmark. Put it somewhere and leave it un opened. OLD School! Brucer

Use the SR. It covers the sound recording and also the underlying composition. The PA just covers the composition.
