Poem from a songwriter
Poem from a songwriter Sometimes I post a song And no one listens...aw shucks! Does that mean my hard work is all in vain and my creation really sucks? Sometimes I write a song that sounds OK to me But I'm just not sure what the end result will be. I have my doubts and I have my fears That my efforts will result in tears But then a strange thing happens And much to my surprise The song I thought was crappy Ends up winning a prize! I love supporting my colleagues And reviewing the songs they post Some of them return the gesture And some just burn the toast But it's all good, as they say at times Songs are hard to write, especially the rhymes I'm just a shoe maker trying to make a shoe Maybe the shoe will fit and even look good too I love it when I win and hate it when I lose But I can't control who listens For this is the road I choose My song may make you dance Or perhaps put you to sleep It can make you think of romance Or maybe make you weep Just like old Gepetto, I carve out my creations Some of them will make you smile At these overnight sensations I'm the puppeteer who pulls the strings Of the puppets I construct Then I cut the strings and let them have their flings As I shout "I love you and good luck" ©Richard Scotti
