Sex and love are 2 different categories.

I'm not saying you can't succeed at both with the same person, but these are clearly 2 opposing forces. They get in the way of each other. If you have a good sex thing going with somebody, it can often be ruined when one partner tries to expand the love aspect. Likewise you might love somebody and because you're not getting what you desire sexually, you might feel the need to stray or completely move on. Now I know there are some righteous folks out there who will tell you that the 2 things are intertwined and interlocked, but I personally suspect these people are the most screwed up people of all. :~D

Different? Can be. Opposing forces? That’s not always or even mostly the case

I never had sex with someone I didn't love. Does that make me weird? Probably. Buy hey, I'm old as shit and set in my ways. For me, love was always essential for sex. I never just did it for doing its sake. Even when we toured there was always girls willing to do it just because I was the lead singer in the band (hey, back then I was a little attractive and even had hair). But I always found a way to get to know them first and then maybe later after I had developed strong feelings, we had sex. Loveless sex just never appealed to me. I know, I know, I'm a weirdo. Funny thing, my wife loves that part about me. She knows that I am not into stray nookie.

It's easier to have sex with someone you don't love than to love someone you have sex with. Sex is easier to define than love - love is harder to find than sex.... I think
