Who do you work for?
If you're a people pleaser this is a tough world to live in. Chances are whatever you bring to the table is being looked at with jaundiced eyes. The crowd looks at each other to determine what kind of deal they can get on your services. There's a general lack of humanity at work and letting you keep your dignity isn't part of their bargain. ' There will be 20 rooting against you for every one who isn't. This is the world we live in now. Trying to bring value to the surroundings is generally thought of as a selfish act in this era. If you don't put blinders on when living in an institutionalized hate den, you'll have nowhere left to turn. It's a shame the way she makes me scrub the floor. Mostly I work for my conscience. That makes it so you can tune out the other stuff.

Well Dan, I said it was hard to explain. Most people think of support is talking to the average half wit who can't figure out how to turn on the monitor. That is not what I do and If I did I would not be in support very long. The kind of support I do is for specific software and its functions. The people are business analysts or in my current position they are the actual IT for the business not the end users. Eventually all software has some error or some one has a question about a specific function. I deal with those high end type of issues not the average user. The fact is I've done it so long I really am not qualified for or know how to do anything else that would pay the bills. It is because my area of support is specialized and not everyone can do it that it pays the bills. I also do end user testing so before the software is released to the customer. To be sure that the latest code is tested to make sure whatever new features or bug fixes did not break anything. Its why when people ask me what I do its hard to answer because most people think of IT as one thing but I am not in that area at all. Two Silo Complex, Ken

well its getting a bit off topic. What I "do" is really none of your business but I see no harm in it. That being said its kind of difficult to explain to someone that ins not in the field that I am but I will try. I do technical support for custom in-house propriety software. The last job before this on was supporting over 12 different products for consumer packaged goods (what you can buy at the grocery store. Soup, ketchup, anything sold in major grocery chains). The software is for business analyst to look for marketing trends to see how historical promotions worked or did not work and make predictions based on those trends and develop marketing pricing. What I do now is similar just a different product line and only one line of software. Now most people don't stay in support very long its a frustrating job trying to help someone who doe's not always give you all the information you need to solve the issue they are having. So I got very good at asking the right questions and data mining them to get at the real issue. At one point in time I managed a group of 8 other tech support people. That position was beyond frustrating so now I'm back at support. Since normally people don't tend to stay in this field but I have for a long time when people see my years of experience they are interested in my skills. I would say that over 14 years in one career path and promotions at times when others were overlooked do to budgets but management wanted to make sure I was happy is usually a pretty good indicator. As why I sign the way I do I never put much thought into it its just they way I always did it. Its no auto signature. I have to type it but I could copy and paste but its not really worth the effort. Hey now--we are all creatives here, that's rare in todays' Accountants' world !!! Yes, that is a fact--- creative accounting is to blame for a shitload of todays misery. Is it?” Well I make a decent living but not from being a bad guy but because I put years if work into making a career for myself. I make nothing from music. I worked my way up and now my experience in my field talks for me. Business people tend to perk up when you have as much experience as I do in certain areas. So yes I make a living because I work for it and for no other reason. “Are you a prick?” Sometimes I can be other times I’m not same as just about anyone else. Or simply a Complete Dick? Sometimes I can be other times I’m not same as just about anyone else. “Be nice to fly.” I did apologize for my misunderstanding and have tried in my own way to help him at times when I thought I could. “what the fuck do I care?” I won’t even chance to guess the answer to that because I’m not even sure if you know the answer yourself. My apologies fly. I did think your comment one who thinks he knows what he is talking about that but does not was aimed at me since I'm one of the few who does respond and I thought you were referring to my response in previous threads with that comment. It seems I made myself a self fulfilling prophesy and became to one who does not know what he is talking about in this thread. I screwed up, I misunderstood, I looked for a meaning that was not there. I guess As you say I am so used to being rejected I don't really expect much else and when I do get the opposite I'm not really sure what to do with it because its like a foreign language to me. Thanks for the support and standing by my side Em and Russ Roman. In this case I was wrong and for all my faults I can and will admit when I am wrong. Despite what others say your posts are interesting to me. Keep on doing what it is that you do and for those that don't understand you well maybe its better for them not too. Fly, you are boring as hell, yet nobody will kill you, I am boring too (as hell, to be precise). You have my blessing and I love you bro. Nobody screws around with Ken though. The only reason why I am on this site is to ensure that really cool musicians still have a fair chance to be heard, not that I am to eager to be heard. Ken's sound is cool. He represents IMP as does Richard, Chandra, Silverwood Studio and many others. American Lesley Jane you just made my day. I really enjoy your creativity. There is so much misunderstanding and mistrust in the world. I am always pleased when common ground is discovered - I think we can all agree with Leslie's assertion that fucking monkey butt = bad. If we all internalize this truth mankind can take one step towards becoming truly civilized. Fly I think your life is too complicated.

Leave Ken alone, Fly. You are usually so unresponsive to his posts, it's no wonder he thought that was directed at him. Why talk about stuff that has nothing to do with anything here, in the first place? It's tedious, it's like talking to yourself except it's not that interesting.

wow this turned into a pretty good thread thanks to you 2. I was pretty sure it was going to take the oh, Fly is being cryptic again, or worse yet, somebody who thinks he knows what I'm talking about but doesn't. There aren't many type 3s. Type 2s rule the world.
