After The Beatles split, who did the best music, or most enjoyable, or significant?
John did the album "Starting Over". Paul did all his Wings stuff? George did his double album, and then I dunno... Ringo??? Anyyone familiar with Ringo work?

Taking your question another way, who did the best music since those times, I'd go with Nirvana, then the indies.

Funny you should say that Bryon. Bryon (speaking softly) lol... How about the chord change around 1:20 in "#9Dream", (above), and on top John making up words, inventive new dimension, in a way, Paul rarely, if ever, made up words, John did in this song, also "I Am The Walrus," also "Across The Universe," prob'ly other songs... Of course, John could be a royal pain in the ass to be around, w his biting humor...or even cruel on occasion... Where your wound lies your passion resides, so a poet says... All'n all the amazing dynamic they have, each immensely talented in their own way, and more than the sum of their parts, musically...they h-a-r-m-o-n-i-z-e...

I do like all Paul's Music from the Wings. Possibly one of the most talented skilled and musically gifted of all the Beatles. Yet John was genius, so lets say John

Ringo? Who's Ringo? No, actually he is one of my favorite percussionists, so rarely just playing a straight beat. But, after the Beatles, he could have retired. He just became another drummer. Never really cottoned to his singing style. I've always been under the impression that Paul was the more gifted musician, and John the better wordsmith - obviously, they both excelled, at times, at both. But, after the Beatles, Paul's musicality continued to develop, whereas I wasn't crazy about what John produced musically. "Imagine" is one of the best lyrics ever penned, but it's pretty basic musically. Paul's lyrics after the Beatles were fanciful, but he wasn't writing clever angles like he did with John. I could listen to "Silly Love Songs" many times because it's just enjoyable music - "Imagine" you just need to listen to once. George, George, George. He had the most heart and soul and spirit. But, he falls into the trap of "easy rhyme syndrome." He sometimes finds the easy rhyme and fits it beautifully, but it doesn't really make any sense. For instance, in "While My Guitar Gently Weeps," he says I don't know how you were diverted/You were perverted, too/I don't know how you were inverted/No one alerted you. Now, you may be tempted to give him the benefit of the doubt, he being a Beatle an all, that there is something deeper about these lyrics, but I'm pretty sure they're nonsense lines that nicely rhyme. His writing after the Beatles has a lot of that. Musically, he continued to write interesting stuff, but lyrics were never his strong point. Take his song "Give Me Love," which I think is a musical masterpiece, for instance - he says "Give me light/Give me life/Keep me free from birth. What does it mean to be free from birth? I think it's more nonsense, but it's one of the few words that rhyme with "earth." Convenient rhyme.
