How/Why They Named a Street, In Recognition of my music
Big project over, thank the Lord, help moving my mother from one assisted living facility to another. She’s 94 years old. Brother and sister helping also, along with the movers. What a project!!! My brother and I took a break, and took the pix below. April Lane, April Place, how /why they named 2 streets in recognition of my music. April Lane, April Place, two new streets 1/4 mile or so from where I lived. (also about 1/4 mile from where I live now, having moved) What an experience. Hard to believe it at first. This was 2011. A bit of a back story...the neighborhood received a complaint or two about my music. For example, I was told there was a complaint about the song image for my song "The Cat, The Moon, and The Songbird..." (still visible on my artist page). A real estate agent who was among those who I dealt with, when selling my mother's house (who I helped take care of at the time), told me "they named a street after your music." "Are you joking?," I replied. A land developer liked it, a new development was being built, expanding the neighborhood, with a new street, April Lane,and also April Place, with a little garden. I walked out to view the street signs, and almost cried. In recognition of my music…(the pix up on my artist page.). HUMBLY, Steve (BIG THANKS TO IAC/IMP, the main platform/showcase for my music

Hi again Scott-----I was thinking of Steve Morton, lovely guy who died too young----I am FB friends with many of those artists I mentioned so I'm not complaining dude

Yah, thanks for reminding me. Rob's list is a good one, but darn I miss Brian Booth, whose stations were among the first to represent a broad swath of indie music, w grand reviews, also larz boah, who also wrote great reviews, and albert Gonzales, with his station 'the talent searcher,' and grand reviews and a sense of humor. Brian rocks on with the karmics, a very talented band, on this site. The chroniclers, from yore, gone but not forgotten...

Yah, a friend of mine wrote in encouragin' tones, "Congratulations on becoming part of the literary landscape! You have created a lyric neighborhood." That's very nice, Rob, cool to hear you're back in the saddle, Stoneman, Bryon my collabro bro, Dolores, Scott, Larree, we all labor in the music vineyards, don't we? Recently, I was reacquainting myself with "Visions of Joanna", the Dylan song, "madonna she still has not showed/we see the empty cage now corrode/her cape of the stage overflows/the fiddler now steps to the road/writing 'everything's been returned that was owed'/on the back of a fish truck that loads/while my conscience explodes... Harmonicas play the skeleton keys and the rain and these visions of Joanna are now all that remain."

Great Story Steve, thanks for sharing, and hope you and your family are glad to have found your mom a fine place to live, indeed it is a challenge and traumatic relocating a loved one to a different place. cheers, and keep bringing your fine groovin' muse to our home here at IMP bryon

Yo, Rob... Good to hear from you. Remember ye good ol days, on IAC, when happenin' songs were everywhere, and folks were friendly and participatory lol... Great core group here tho. I've been MIA, helping my mother move. I'm traumatized lol... in music, bro! and best to Leo and Jake and all the Silverwooders...

That's pretty cool Steve----My Folks have moved to the next realm but up on the hIlls in Christchurch City NZ-----there is a Barrer Lane named after my Dad ! Kinda Special I reckon-----glad for you bro' Rob
