Lana del Rey song, a cover of a song by a group called Sublime, and deriving in part from the classic "Summertime" by George Gershwin/DuBose Heyward. (first words and part melody anyway)

Scott I think, brought up the lack of melody recently, in much of contemporary rap, and hip hop music recently, in a thread, and I wonder about this also, and miss the melody, however...in this song, the ?Gorillaz do neat work incorporating melody /rap, or rap/melody, with the 'windmill, windmill' bridge... any interest in literature may also connect the bridge there to don quixote and his windmills...and seem to be touching' on 9-11 in their oblique way, open to interpretation, and I really like the open-ended vibe...

Yes, Lana is so smooth on this. A great driving-in-the-car with the top down song, I turn the volume up every time... Interesting, how the original "Summertime" morphs into this, however a strong presence in the Chorus, the original shines...

I like Lana and Gershwin. I love Sublime, though that’s not one of my favorites of theirs. Probably like this version better
