15 years
It was Norman that made me realise that it was 15 years when he put Hope street blues on one of his cool stations. And the date was April 2006 My fav though is Spacemen are spacesuits because it was the first i ever wrote by myself. And managed to get a singer to sing it. Never expected Anjuli though Spacesuits still blows my mind Me and Anjuli got our Brighton song Pearls and Tales remixed at Abbey Road in London by Andy Walter used to work for Factory Records, U2 the list goes on. Lyrics written by Brendan who is happily married to Anjuli. Anjuli had never met a Scotsman i had never met a Californian it was a fun good road trip 3000 miles too Golf tdi. Seen my first ever proper soul band with brass almost got jumped by the Brighton football crew until Anjuli slugged there top boy inside this night club. Because i passed a Scottish 5 pound note and they would not accept it some local guy noticed told all his pals. Anjuli and 3 giant bouncers sorted there hash. It only happened once the whole time i was there it was unfortunate wrong time wrong place. Worked out in the end. Next day we recorded the vocals for Pearls and Tales. I had already done a bit of work Anjuli and Brendan really made it happen. Not sure how anyone would approach this but after Spacesuits and Hope street blues with Steve Murdoch. I thought i was leaving Scotland by going to California i end up back where i started with a Scots Californian playing guitar. Anyway me and Ecut from Berlin made a song called Road rage rising i had made the lyrics up when i was still at school. It was a banned at school to violent i had to wait years to find the right singer
