Do you consider yourself a patient person?

I run into numerous impatient artists.

No. I am not patient. Not at all. This feeds into my lack of prolificness, as I writer songs in spurts. Just waiting for inspiration, and they spit them out when they come to me. I rarely sit down with the thought of writing. When I sit down to write, it is because I am compelled to. And then, while I work out the kinks in the song (edit lyrics, tweak chord changes, etc.) I generally finish the songs in a rush.

I'm very patient when it comes to working with my music but I get very impatient standing in check out lines and sitting in doctor's waiting rooms.

That is a very subjective question that I cannot clearly answer concisely. It all depends on the situation for me. I am not patient when it comes to food, sex or money. Those things I want when they are due or available. But other things like love, opportunities, career, children and God. Yeah, I am very patient with them.

I never ran into an impatient artist. We are all patient to infinity to get the exact sound we want. On a good day it comes in a heart beat - no patience necessary, but when it's elusive we keep at it and play the almost good sound forever till the real one reveals itself. I believe all artists have this in common. I would take bets.
