Why should anyone make music if there's no longer a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow?
This is a question I receive often from my artist clientele. My answer is there's only one reason to do it, because you enjoy it.

Well that may be mostly true but I can tell you I've seen very talented people fade from Indieland cause of the difficulty of the dream. There would be a lot more good songs out there if there was some conceivable way to make it by doing recordings, I think.

Gold is overrated... No matter the size... a happy audience is priceless. Creating something and putting it out into the world and getting a response... (preferably a constructive one) That and your own enjoyment is the real purpose in making music imo. And yeah sometimes just for your own ego...;-)

YOU "ARE RIGHT"(correct)... The proverbial “pot of gold” is the essence of what it is that you have “produced”. “Value” does NOT mean “Money”... Value is instead “Satisfaction”... Like unto that “satisfying feeling” one acquires after having had an orgasm... This is just an analogy of course... But tis true non-the-less. ; )
