Spaghetti Guitar
Twangy guitar was very much a part of the soundtrack to the Spaghetti Westerns
An Eko guitar from the 60s. Made in Italy
Theme from "A Few Dollars More". Typical guitarist - he doesn't even start until two minutes in! (This movie was actually made in Spain - but Olive Oil Western didn't have quite the same ring to it!)
The duel scene from "For a Few Dollars More". This time the guitarist takes 2min 20sec to get started! For my friends at Eaglehead.

Senz'altro ho suonato con chitarristi che avevano una Eko. Translation: I am sure I played with guitarists who had Eko guitars. I remember the brand quite clearly. In the 60s in Italy it was Eko guitars with Davoli amps...I did not think much of the Davoli amps. Later Montarbo and Lombardi made some good stuff. Vincenzo

No idea how I missed this blog! Bernie Shaw had an Eko down the street from me in the sixties. It was so superior to the Japanese crap everybody else was stuck with (except the older greasers from the fifties who could afford Strats, Mustangs and Precisions) Check this out for more Italian axes www.fetishguitars.com

I used to have an Eko guitar - a bass. It was a solid body Beatle bass copy, sparkly blue and tortoiseshell, more controls than Concorde and a TRULY scuzzy sound!

Sparkly laminex finish, 4 pickups, and 72 controls! Obviously a quality instrument!
