Letting songs ruminate and grow in your head.
Lately I've had little time to work on music because of realtime income-earning job projects. but i do have a new song I've worked on whenever I got a little time free. Have had zero time in my studio for the last week but I'm at the point where it's completely done except for a guitar solo and the vocals which is my favorite to do so I save it for last. Anyway I've been writing the solo in my head for a long time now and it's getting better and better. I think some of my better work has come when songs have time to sprout properly in my mind.

I feel that songs that are allowed to marinate in their own juices are usually tastier! Whenever I rush a song through the assembly line, I regret it! Bob Dylan wrote Blowin’ In the Wind in 10 minutes but he’s Dylan and I’m not! Sometimes I work on a song for years. If you really love a song, it’s worth the time an effort.
