self-congratulatory artists
I see nothing wrong there, after all, if they don't, who's going to praise em? I suppose the trick is to do such a thing as nonchalantly as possible, to make one's self-kudos seem as casual and unintended as possible.

I gave this some thought and realize i suffer from this disease i thinking i am something and praise myself every so often especially when others get adulation and not me so i compensate by liking what i do

Ha I hate praising myself. on occasion, very infrequently I do it, every hour. :)
