Deep Purple Jam/Parody
Having a go at this song I always used to hear someone playing when I went near any musical instrument shops as a youngster,

Chris, I am not sure what the rules are for parody but I know somehow parodies are allowed. Your version I doubt will raise any eyebrows. It might no hurt to include parody in the name but I am not sure if that is required since I'm not exactly sure what the rule regarding parody is all I know is that parody has some sort of special acceptation that makes it not follow the normal rules. Thanks Ken, that's appreciated Well copyright is something that I thought of, but figured it was so far from the original that no one would complain, maybe the record co algorithm spider bot only looks for genuine stuff like cd rips, Also, I made sure I unchecked the monetize box on upload, so there is no intent to scam, Maybe I should edit/change the video title to include the word parody,(playin' safe huh?)

You probably don't want to hear this and yes a lot of people do it and get away with it but posting a cover on you tube requires a synchronization license that you need to get from universal publishing group. I doubt anything will happen but if the copyright owner complains your you tube account could be banned or at least the video taken down. Maybe you have a synchronization license but they are quite expensive. I wanted to do a video for the cover I am working on and universal publishing told me that song was 1000.00 so I am not doing the video. This might not apply to a parody I know there is some rule about parodies but I'm not sure how that works. My goal in this is to make you aware nothing more. TSC, Ken
