Why Georgia? Why?

I know I've heard this song several times but for some reason I really listened to the lyrics for the first time closely today and it hit me like a rock. Why? Because when I was 25 (quarter life crisis) I picked up and moved to Atlanta without knowing a soul. Actually my first apartment wasn't too far from John Mayer's Atlanta apartment off of Sattelite Blvd., and I had been stuck in traffic many times on GA 400 or I-85 so sick of dealing with the traffic that I considered giving up on Georgia and going somewhere else. I can't count how many times I would wander around alone then just hoping to find a familiar face, longing to be at home. Even after living there five years I did the same thing, although less frequently. I can't count how many times I thought to myself (WHY the fuck did i move to GEORGIA? WHY?). In retrospect, I'm glad I did...I made some of the best friends of my life there and grew up a lot. Now I'm back home in Salt Lake (funny how many people ask me why Salt Lake?) and missing Georgia. It's funny how things change sometimes...

I love northern California. If I could afford it I'd seriously consider moving there but alas I don't make $500,000 a year yet ;)

I'm California Dreamin'. I can drive 3hrs. east and be at the snow at Tahoe. I can drive 2hrs. west and be at the beach or the Golden Gate Bridge. I can drive 45min. north and be wine tasting at over 200 wineries (bed & breakfast places too). I can drive 2hrs south and camp in the Sierra mountains at my cabin. The problem I have is it cost so much to live here, I can't afford to go anywhere! Anyone interested in some mental cases? There's plenty of them out here. I can share......I don't mind. They're great at parties or for re-decorating things! Oh Flockit...I'll just move.
