Oasis: beautiful music - nasty arrogance
Quoting today's rock quote of the day: "I will beat the ******* living daylight **** out of them, that goes for George, Jagger, Richards, and that other **** (Paul McCartney) that gives me ****. - Liam Gallagher (Oasis)" Although Oasis made two songs I really like ("Wonderwall" and "Don't look back in anger"), I personally think their arrogance is primitive. Or is it just a game, a kind of strategy? Well whatever nevermind...

When Noel and Liam take a break from snorting coke, bangin' hookers, and beating the shit out of each other, and start making forum posts wherein they speculate as to whether any of our personas are for real, I'll reconsider my opinion of them... but until that happens, they'll remain the greatest rock band that's ever existed. Cheers, G

It's probably just an act. Like Keith Moon smashing up hotels and all the sneering at the cameras was basically a front to create more PR. Wonderwall was more impressive melodically than lyrically. It's a surprizingly weak lyric when you read it. I liked their first two albums, but the ones after than sounded all the same.

I prefer this type of attitude myself. " Ringo once said that Oasis will be finished "once they run out of Beatles tunes to rip-off". George Harrison, a few years before his death, echoed Ringo's sentiments, and Liam called Harrison a "nipple" live on MTV." George actually had some more pointed words for the Gallaghers basically telling them where to get off. A perfect example of them feeding off the Beatles is this fluff.. "Wonderwall" Backbeat the word was on the street That the fire in your heart is out I'm sure you've heard it all before But you never really had a doubt I don't believe that anybody feels The way I do about you now And all the roads we have to walk along are winding And all the lights that lead us there are blinding There are many things that I would Like to say to you I don't know how Because maybe You're gonna be the one who saves me ? And after all You're my wonderwall Today was gonna be the day? But they'll never throw it back to you By now you should've somehow Realized what you're not to do I don't believe that anybody Feels the way I do About you now And all the roads that lead to you were winding And all the lights that light the way are blinding There are many things that I would like to say to you I don't know how I said maybe You're gonna be the one who saves me ? And after all You're my wonderwall blah blah..

I love the music of Oasis but they are quite daft! I think it's partly real and partly an act. But I overlook it because they are so talented.
