political manoeuvres in the dark

Some days ago, John Howard was ousted from the Australian government: good news for the environment (the new government signed the Kyoto protocol at once), as we discussed on Silverwoodstudio's blog. And great news for music too, since Pete Garrett from Midnight Oil is now a minister. In Switzerland, we've had a big change as well: on Wednesday, it was far right wing politician Christoph Blocher who was ejected from government. He paid the price for his populism: his behaviour as a demagogue was not worthy of a minister's duties (federal council), and parliament chose a moderate and experienced woman from his party. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/7141897.stm Blocher was thus ejected from the federal council just like the black sheep ejected of Switzerland by white sheep on an internationally criticized propaganda poster used by his party's far right wing. We are rejoicing ... and busy recording our new album Swiss cheers :-) Magnetfisch
