I've often wondered about the true intent of this organization. If it is to honor R&R artists then why are there so many non R&R artists in it? I think they should change the name to Musicians HOF or something more generic. For many years now they have tried to say that R&R encompasses almost all genres of modern music by including inductees from R&B, Pop, and even Reggae. I think that sort of denigrates the legitimacy of it all. Not to say that the artists inducted from other genres do not deserve being inducted into something but just saying that R&R HOF is quite a stretch for many of them. It is cool that they tried to have inclusion of other artists and genres. I just don't think that an all inclusive organization should be named as one genre. But ore to your point. Yes, there should be an indie wing in the R&R Hall Of Fame as long as they are all R&R artists.

Art is a very subjective thing. Who has the right to judge what is great art and what is not? The R&R Hall Of Fame, the Oscars, Grammys and the rest all lack transparency as far as the voting is concerned. It’s not a fair or honest system and needs to be reformed.
