I'm starting a thread about a new kind of topic right now.

I don't like the way Hollywood portrays bunnies. Jessica Rabbit was promiscuous and Bugs is just a joke. How can anyone take rabbits seriously with all that What's Up Doc crap?

I’m feelin’ ya’ Stoneman. I had a friend at work tell me about his childhood(Black Experience) when coming back from his Grandmothers house after midnight.(‘Against The Law” is playing right now!) His Daddy was driving back into Louisiana from Mississippi in the late 50’s/early 60’s while he and his sister were sitting in the back seat. A cop appears behind them with flashing lights(The Devil Himself now playing) and he said his heart sank. It was about to pound out of his chest... BECAUSE HE BELIEVED HIS DADDY WAS ABOUT TO DIE!!! When his Father rolled down the window he noticed that he was situating his hand rather strangely. After showing the cop his ID they had a perfectly “normal” conversation. It even ended with the cop addressing his Father as “Mister”. The window rolled up and off they went. My friend was VERY relieved! Afterwards, he discovered that his Father was a member of the Masons and that he was wearing the Masonic ring and showing the Masonic hand sign as the cop approached. Now, at that time there were no “REAL” Masons who were “Black”(they were not “recognized” as being “legitimate” Masons), but nevertheless there WERE “BLACK Masons” and “Black” Masonic Lodges. And “recognized” or not by “True” Masonic organizations there was still the “recognition” of the “ring” and “hand sign/shake” by the Masons among themselves, Thank God! Anyway, it was my bemoaning of the detrimental and secretive nature of the Masons and their influences in a negative fashion which provoked him into telling me this story... and then he went on to tell me that he was a Mason too! I told him I was both shocked and horrified... NOT about him being a Mason, but about his suffering like that as a little boy... telling him that I could not imagine what that would be like... “WORRYING THAT MY FATHER WOULD BE KILLED BY A COP... FOR NO REASON AT ALL”. Then I told him,” I know I didn’t do it, but I want to tell you that I AM SORRY nonetheless. And it is inexcusable for THAT to be the reality of anyone’s life... much less that of a child’s “. Rabbits? ...they hide in holes don’t they? ...hmm ...and my friend felt like doing JUST THAT! ...when he was a child... and it would seem that is still the case today... and it is such a shame(Hiding in the Dark now playing)... and “it makes me so fuckin’ mad!!!” -M-

I feel your pain. But, at least you bunny's have not been portrayed as thugs, rapists, or servants all the time. Lord knows that if i have to watch another steppin fetchit slave movie again I will probably throw up. I'm just saying that Rabbits don't have nearly as much negative stuff being portrayed about them on film that my people do. But, I do feel your pain! Much Respect, Stoneman btw, I have had several bunny friends in my life and they were truly quality beings worthy of respect and love.

...well, for starters my wife's "nick-name" is "Bunny Rabbit". She's cute as hell and I do take "her" rather "SERIOUSLY". ...as for those "Hollywood"(my nick-name by the way) bunny types ...I think PLAYBOY had some that represented the idea of "bunnies" pretty well(not as nicely as my wife, but still...)... and whether they were promiscuous or not... they were "SERIOUSLY" hot! ...but then again ...the only "carrots" that they'd probably want would be of the "diamond" variety! ...haha! -M-

You all left out the most famous Bunny of them all. The Easter Bunny! Forced to dress up in a ridiculous outfit once a year to hide candy, chocolate treats and a variety of colored eggs for Christian children to find.... then forgotten for the rest of the year! He never understood what any of that he's made to do has anything to do with the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, but he's thankful he only has to do it once every Spring!

And, what's with that Frank in Donnie Darko, did you ever see such an ugly son of a bunny? Fatal Attraction too, the poor bunny gets boiled and he didn't do a thing wrong, unlike Michael Douglas! Wallace and Gromit ? What a harmless pair they seem until they blame all the dirty deeds on the Were-Rabbit Finally I make one request on behalf of Nick Cage - "Put the bunny back in the box"

European movies rule! The meanest bunny I've seen in a movie is The Killer Rabbit of Caerbannog in Monty Python's Holy Grail.

I agree Fluffy and it ain't just Hollywood misrepresenting us! > Rabbit in Winnie the poo is portrayed as a "neurotic worrywort" > Peter Rabbit is supposedly "addicted to vegetables" > Roger Rabbit was "framed for murder" > Trix Rabbit is hooked on a sugary cereal that are bad for kids > The White Rabbit in Alice is another character with OCD characteristics > The Energizer Bunny again is seen as a kinda crazy headbanger type I, myself have been portrayed as being careless with my contraceptive arrangements but it's not true, why this year I only gave birth 14 times, Jessica Rabbit is far more promiscuous. I think she even slept with a Hollywood director to get that part! But we mustn't forget The Velveteen Bunny who became real because of the love - that's a nice story And who can complain about the good press the rabbits from Bright Eyes got - and a lovely song too Even here at IMP - do you remember how no-one voted for us in the Golden Kayaks? So if you'd like to start a petition Fluffy, you can add my name.
