It guides the stars, the mighty winds, and when the tide is coming in

They were the chosen ones, stars and crosses on their chests
They were the driven, on a mission, they were an image of the best
They were soldiers of redemption, their sins forgiven they were blessed
But the lords and politicians made laws proclaiming wrong and right
Generals marshalled every man and moved their armies through the night
And with their weapons held every entrance into the steely morning light
They held the people captive and they took away their rights
Controlled by Church and State and told what and when to fight
But they couldn’t stop the new world, no, they couldn’t stop the light

The gods deep in the heavens chose Atlantis for the site
And Venus in her passion came to dance in Paradise
At the Festival of Virgins in their silken gowns of white
