I've always loved the Welsh word ‘Hiraeth’, which has no direct one-word English translation. Perceived to mean an intense form of longing or nostalgia for a place or person long gone, or even an unaccountable yearning for someone you have never known or a place you have never visited. The Welsh refer to the feeling of hiraeth as ‘falling upon them’. I can relate to that feeling, as I'm sure many others do. Maybe the genre is 'Celtic New Age'.

The trickiest part was getting the pronunciation of 'Hiraeth' correct. As well as having traditional instruments, I also included a touch of Welsh choir in the mix. I'm glad the backing bits didn't overwhelm the main vocals.
