I find Bruce's response humorous! While it's always nice to learn about someone's inspiration, it sounds like he got a bit more than he bargained for. The playful tone with the smiley faces suggests he's not necessarily annoyed, but rather tickled by the overshare. It can be relatable - sometimes we get caught up in sharing buy research papers online details and forget to gauge the audience's interest.

It's funny you should say that---------I got a call yesterday from the NZ west coast, a guy who thinks he may have my old Hofner--------I'm going to head down there in a few weeks to see------but even if it is, he can keep it----for being so honest!
