Beautiful music...flute sounds great...your mandolin playing is gorgeous...

I'm curious as to your take on learning mandolin...I worked on some melody lines and tremolo...it would be nice to get better at this...I had a simple video that gets you jamming and playing by ear....it helped a lot and I recorded something after practicing but not enough time to get any cross picking down...pretty simple and not much time but hope to be able to learn these techniques. Looking for the easiest fastest way. If you have any ideas email me at ELSOL102@verizon.net Hope you are well. B

Elite sport seems to be going the same way as mainstream music. A packaged commodity to be marketed and consumed (and to generate mega bucks for the suits)

Ah, the days of Subiaco and VFL..... that was the days of REAL footy!!! When the Swans were from South Melbourne (named after the Swans on Albert Park Lake) and most of the other big teams were from Melbourne. Back then, when you watched a game of footy, a bit of biffo and a small brawl was just part of the game. Now nobody is allowed to touch anyone else without imposing huge fines!!! I still remember listening to Saturday arvo matches on dad's Radiola valve radio on 3GL and cheering on Gary Ablett (God to Cats fans!!) I think I still have my 'One eyed Cats supporter' badge somewhere!

Yeah the Eagles beat the Cats in the 92 and 94 Grand Finals so it's your turn. To be honest I grew up when there was no AFL and my local league team was the Subi Lions - I still follow them more than the Eagles - AND they're cats (kinda!)

Thanks for dropping in to SuperPuss land Bruce. I grew up in Geelong so I am most definitely a Cats supporter (kinda appropriate!) and it was way cool having them win the AFL Grand Final. The whole city went nuts afterwards!!! Go Cats! Perhaps 2008 might be an Eagles / Cats grand final. That would be interesting!!

Hey SP just noticed you're from Geelong. Very belated congrats on last year's AFL grand final win. My Grandad came from Geelong so they're my Victorian team (but the Eagles are my favorites overall)

Hey thanks for the visit Bruce - hope you enjoyed some of my songs while you were on my page. The winter waterfalls are indeed wonderful, every winter we get a new stream flowing across the fields here, tumbling into our small stream, cascading down the hill... just like a Waterfall Reel!

Hi Neighbour! Seeing as you're on both sides of me (#1 & 3) on the world charts atm I thought I'd better drop by and say "Hi!".

That one's a 1963 Hofner Club 50. It's got an action like a cheese cutter but a real honky rhythm sound played down low. (they set up the pickups and pole pieces in the 63 for humbuckers but only put one coil in!) There's a blog about it on my "rocky" site - "BJ" . Just click on the page link on my page and go to the blogs there for August last year.

I've cluttered up your shoutbox with a reply to the Culloden question (lol)...man, that's a nice axe you're playing on the beach - the one with the whammy bar...what IS that fine-looking axe? Looks suitable for battle... I've got a lot of Boyds in my past...Cuz!
