This is my first time i visit here. I found so many entertaining stuff in your blog, especially its discussion. From the tons of comments on your articles, I guess I am not the only one having all the leisure here! Keep up the good work. I have been meaning to write something like this on my website and you have given me an idea. The Reef at King's Dock

Hi again David! What a thrill to peruse your station here and see four 2017 Golden Kayaks icons!!! What a night that was! I nominated you for all 4 GK's and you swept them all! Not only that, but Whitherward and I went 2 for 2; Richard Scotti 2 for 2, Bryon Tosoff 3 for 3, Francesca Tamellini 2 for 3, Cat Dowling 1 for 1, and Shoe City Sound 1 for 1. All together, that is 7 of my station artists that went 15 for 16. Overall, my artists won 19 of the 26 2017 Golden Kayaks. Pretty damn proud of you all and your musical accomplishments and think I am pretty good at picking the cream of the crop!

You are welcome Meredith! The full blurbs are now there. Your 4 songs are right after 4 of Whitherward's songs. As soon as I have a couple more of Ash's friends at IMP, I want to build a new station called, "Music Monsters - Whitherward and Friends!"

Huge congratulations Ric on your 2017 Golden Kayak for "Omaha" in the World category. Although I did not nominate you, once my nominee did not make the ballot, I voted for you. Although I was born and raised and still live in Omaha, Nebraska, that is not why I voted for this song. I truly believed it was the best in this category. Are you of the Omaha tribe of First and Native Americans? They have my deepest respect, sir! I'll start a new station soon and add this fine work to it and will be listening to your other songs. Heartfelt congratulations tonight!

Hello there Richard! What a night this has been! All of my nominations for the "BIG 3" came away as the winners! WHITHERWARD for BEST BAND, FRANCESCA for BEST FEMALE ARTIST, and you for BEST MALE ARTIST! You are so deserving and I could not be more thrilled how things unfolded! I also nominated you for your win for WATER FROM A STONE in the CLASSIC AND PROGRESSIVE ROCK category. What thrills me about that, is that since I was a teen, that was always my favorite music genre. You probably know that THE MOODY BLUES finally made the 2018 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and will be inducted this spring. So sad that Ray Thomas died just 11 days ago, but happy he knew they finally made it. But this night belongs to you and the IMP artists! Early on you became one of my faves, not just because of your songs, but because of how kind and supportive you were to me and my station, i.e. your Pipeline post about it. 7 of my station artists won 15 of 16 GK's for which I nominated them, and 19 of the 26 overall. That blows my mind and makes me so happy! I need to start a new station and have several of your incredible songs in it. God bless you sir, and continued success to you! Mike

Hi Francesca! What an incredible night this has been! I nominated you in 3 categories and you took home 2 Golden Kayaks for BEST FEMALE ARTIST and BEST SONG - CHRISTIAN / SPIRITUAL for SINNER MAN. I also nominated THE CROWN for Best Song - Easy Listening / Soft Rock, but Bryon took home that plum. As they say "2 out of 3 ain't bad." As I began to add more of your songs to my station, I knew that 2017 belonged to you just as 2016 had belonged to Monicka. You have set the bar for yourself for 2018, but I believe there is no ceiling for you. Thank you so much for adding so much musical joy to my life! I wish for nothing but the very best for you in your life and career. God bless you, Francesca! Sinner Man Michael

I am so happy tonight Ashley and Edward! I am thrilled you are the 2017 Golden Kayak Winners - Best Band and that "The Anchor" is 2017 Best Song - Folk / Acoustic Rock / Americana. To think that this journey we are on together just began 8 months ago! 2017 has been one of the best years of my life and 2018 has started pretty darn well! You two have brought music, joy, and happiness into my life. This Old Man Music Monster forever gives you a large, permanent dwelling in his heart! I love you both so very much! Michael

Hi Meredith! Wow, you and Scott wasted no time in getting you set-up here! I'm not going to waste any time either. I will add all your songs to my #4 ranked station called "Music Monsters" right now and I will write full blurbs later. You will re-energize my presence here at IMP. I will also write a Pipeline post introducing you tonight. Ashley and Edward will be so thrilled and love that you are here!!!!! Mike

Thanks so much Mr. BB! Sorry, but you were one of the "Time Magazine" photos I could not name at the time, even though I recognized your face. LOVE Norah Jones and saw her here in Omaha on June 5. Do you cover any of her songs here at IMP, sir?
12/25/2017, 11:32 PM
Thanks so much Mr. Young! Quite an honor, win, lose, or draw! Well, I guess the ties won't be revealed, eh? Can there even be a tie for first place?
12/25/2017, 11:29 PM
Thank you Bryon! As I indicated before, if that hardware comes to me, it will be a huge surprise!

Congratulations, Michael, on your Golden Kayak 2017 nomination for station manager of the year. Wishing you the best of luck, Happy Holidays and much continued success. Neil

Hi Michael, congrats on your Golden Kayak nomination as station manager ,all the best bryon
11/22/2017, 11:58 PM
David, like I told you early on when I was first building my station, no one could ever 'pigeon-hole' you into just one genre. To prove that, I am nominating your songs for at least four 2017 Golden Kayaks in four separate genres. You sir, are an incredible musician!
10/31/2017, 9:57 PM
Hi Glenn and company! I will be listening to much more of your music for my future stations, my friend!
10/21/2017, 5:04 AM
Francesca, as the final one of the seven featured artists in my station, your place is firmly fixed now. I like variety and therefore play my artist's songs in "mini set lists." Your 9 songs are in 3 sets of 3 and begin with songs #5, 43, and 80. I usually speak directly to my artists in my blurbs, and I hope that is okay with you. Your voice is lovely, your piano playing is brilliant, and your song-writing talent is abundant. Thank you! Mike

Hey man Thanks for the kind words. I certainly am an ex hippie child of the sixties. Would be honored to be on your station. I love jazzy treatments of pop tunes ala nora j. I also played with chuck berry and bobby vinton bsck in the day. Cheers Bb

Great stuff Sapphire! Listened to the first 20 songs the other day and the final 3 just now. You will anchor my next station called "Groovy Ambience." Coming soon to an IMP near you!

Huge congratulations Mona and Lisa to "Waiting for the Waiter" for being the highest debuting song in the Kayak Big 25 ever at #9! It will be #1 in just a few weeks. And to think it was not my cup-of-tea at first. But Scott's explanation of the deeper meaning really helped me, and now it is really growing on me rapidly! The video is really cool too. You and your papa Rudi and your step-mum manger Michaela do everything first class! Much Omaha love, sweethearts!!! MLT2 Michael

Hey there sweet Ashley and groovy Edward! I can't begin to tell you how special to me that Wednesday 9/27/17 and Thursday 9/28/17 was and always shall be. Yes I can, I already have; in person in the hotel, in the Hyundai, in the restaurant, outside, in the Tavern, via e-mail, and Facebook, both public and private. And now here on your artist page in IMP. And this is just the tip of the iceberg. You both now occupy a very large hall in my heart that is forever haunted by you! I LOVE YOU both so much that it almost hurts. But it would hurt so good. Your Whitherward Music Monster Michael. WWMM Michael (2 heart emojis)
